My Predictions for The Day…
I thought the kids would get a kick out of this story. Thought the girls might think some of the illustrations were “gross” or “yucky” and I was thinking maybe they would go more towards a doctor’s theme for activities but they talked more about breaking things and things being broken (I can definitely see how it could go that way as well…). I loved that someone brought up finding body part music because we found some great songs, some old that we haven’t listened to for awhile and some fun new ones:)

Activities Produced from that Story:
Tore paper & tried putting it back together
Played with the torn paper
Made art with the torn paper pieces and tape
Made “Silly Body Part Art”
Put puzzles together
Danced to body part songs
Talked about what our body parts do
Named our body parts in order from head to to and toe to head
Played with Mr Potato Head

What We Learned Today:
Learned about rhyming (the book was a rhyming story)
Worked on fine motor skills when tearing paper, playing with Mr Potato Head and putting puzzles together
Used large muscles while dancing
Learned new vocabulary
Learned about order
Used creativity & imaginations when doing art
Learned to follow directions when following the movements in the songs
Worked on coordination when moving more than 1 body part at a time in the songs
Used teamwork when cleaning up our paper mess
