How I Predicted Today Going… I thought the kids would get a kick out of this book. They did think it was pretty funny, but I don’t think they really picked up too much on the moral of the story (no matter how mad your parents make you, you would be lost without them). Their favorite part was about the mud and the little girl trying to get her bike up and down the hill.

Activities Produced from that Story:
We made a list of things that we like that our parents do & a list of things we don’t like that our parents do
We made a town & pretended to get stuck on a hill
Making the town then turned into sorting vehicles into like group (trucks, cars, tractors, vans, etc…)
We made “mud” paintings

What We Learned Today:
That it’s ok be mad at the people we love
Love is unconditional
Talked about mud
Worked on sorting/categorizing skills when sorting the vehicles
Worked on color recognition when sorting the vehicles
Worked on basic math skills when counting the vehicles that we were sorting
Worked on fine motor skills when building the town
Worked on communication skills when making a list of things we do & don’t like that our parents do
Used creativity & imagination when making our “mud” paintings
